How We Make Money

We are funded by affiliate commission. Here is what that means, which links it applies to, and what it doesn’t change.

Affiliate commission

When you buy a VPN subscription after following a link on this site, we may be paid a commission by that provider. It costs you nothing extra and does not change the price you pay.

Which links are affiliate links

Any button or link that takes you to a VPN provider’s website may be an affiliate link. These go through our own /go/ redirect so we can count clicks, and are marked rel="sponsored". Links to our own pages and to the primary sources we cite are never affiliate links.

What commission doesn’t affect

• The facts we report. Data limits, prices, ownership and jurisdiction come from each provider’s own website, privacy policy and app-store listings, and we cite them the same way whether or not the provider pays us.
• What we say about weaknesses. Every review lists real drawbacks, including for the services we rank highest.
• Whether we include a free VPN. Many free VPNs pay no commission at all, because there is nothing to buy. We include them anyway.
